I know how the internet “works” and all that, and god knows I steal things all the damn time, but really? Reprinting the entire foreword to a book without any, like, citation at all? The book is long out of print I guess. Information wants to be free, and famously reclusive authors want it to look like they contributed to blogs they probably have never heard of because I am pretty sure they live in a cabin somewhere without internet access!

How come everyone starts caring about this when it’s Bill Watterson, but no one blinked when it was Kenneth Koch on Frank O’Hara (the latter is the writer of the book that serves as leitmotif in the second season of Mad Men, if that helps you care)? Oh, I just answered my own question.
